Stroke of Midnight Sherrilyn Kenyon Amanda Ashley L A Banks Lori Handeland Books

I love anthologies. They present you with an opportunity to get to know authors you're familiar with; and, series authors usually reward you by providing background information not provided in the series on characters that are enjoyed by their readers. This book was no different. I also love them for those times when a short story is all I have time for.

In this grouping, Lori Handeland was the only author whose work was new to me. Her story "Red Moon Rising" didn't really motivate me to want to seek other offerings from her. The story was okay; but, there are so many authors who are more compelling. I did enjoyed the heroine's witty sarcasm and vulnerabilities (physical and emotional); and, the hero's tactical proficiencies wrapped in a delicious package. But I felt without the isolation and desperation, they would have never gotten together. I didn't really like the plot. I think this was a story that needed more time (pages) to develop.

Although, I own 13 L.A. Banks books (I like to have all the books in a series before reading the series because I hate waiting for the next book to come out with unanswered question plus I don't have to try to remember characters and circumstances; it just flows better.), this was the first time that I've read one of her tales. Wow, what a love story. I liked that the heroine was a Black-Native American and the hero was Caucasian. I liked that what happened to the heroine was unexpected by the reader. I'm excited that there's more to come from both of them. Both characters captured by interest. It's a short story; but, the author gave me enough background information and insight into their thinking that I care about them both. Together, they sizzle; you can taste their hunger. It definitely has me wanting to start reading her books I already have.

Amanda Ashley's "Born of the Night" was memorable. I found this tale atypical; and another good historical / paranormal romance. I was definitely rooting for this hero.

I'm already a fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon. This story was another that sparks the need to pick up more in this series. The characters and connections are very interesting.

Overall, this book is a paranormal mix of werewolves, vampires, mystic sorcery shape-shifters grounded with romance. If that's your thing then I recommend this ride (book).

Stroke of Midnight Sherrilyn Kenyon Amanda Ashley L A Banks Lori Handeland Books Reviews

i enjoy all the authors that put this one together, especially L.A Banks, who was a wonderful and imaginative writer, her vampire series " the vampire hunter" has a prelude story in this one that is HOTT!
I love paranormal romances. Im always looking for more books to read. sometimes it is nice to take a break into the world of a book for a short while.
This is a nice collection of stories that don't require you to already be immersed in these authors worlds...but they just might whet your appetite to volunteer for the rides!
Love her books.
I'm a series reader and didn't until recently know that some of the books are in other books like this with multiple authors. This one is great and goes with the dark-hunter series thats by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I think this series is awsome to read it follows well and in order but its one of those you just cant put down very easy not knowing whats going to happen. I recomend this very highly, the shipping and waiting on the book wasn't bad and its in great condition when you get it. Goes great with the set if you are a collector of books as well.
Dante's an katagari were-panther and Pandoras an Arcadian were-panther. So heres the rundown,,, Pandora gets sent to the past to dragon-con to looks for Ash cuz he attends it every year, and she needs ash's help cuz shes from the future and doesn't have her powers yet because she a virgin and doesn't aquire them until she mates for the first time. Dante's at dragon-con this year to look for bands to play at his club "Dantes Interno", and there he stumble on Pandora whos in heat I mite add and then they hav crazy hot panther sex and get attacked by the were's who want to get Pandora and bring her back to the future so they can use her as a slave along with all her other female family members.
Good Book check it out.
I purchased this book mainly for the L.A. Banks story "Make It Last Forever". If you follow the VHL series then you have to read this story. It gives you the history of Tara and Rider, before I read Make It Last Forever I wanted Tara and Yonnie together. This story also gives you a little history of Rider and Jose'. The story explains how Rider and Tara met, how Tara became a vampire and how Rider came to build their special cabin. This is a good love story with some steamy love scenes. This story also stands on its own so if you have not read the Vampire Huntress Series you will still enjoy this story.
I also liked Winter Born and Born of the Night both of these stories mix paranormal with romance and finding your life mate. Both of these stories have everything I like; romance, love, sex, mystery, wolves and a good flow.
I liked Red Moon Rising the least. It had mystery, love, sex etc...I just did not like the idea of a person wearing animal skin and then becoming the animal. This story was sort of boring... but the other stories made the book a good purchase.Stroke of Midnight
